Between jobs, a practice project
Sumit Verma was between jobs. Instead of waiting, he started a small project to keep practising and keep building.
About ShareXtra
One developer between jobs, a movie to send to his sister, and a best friend who saw a photographer struggle to deliver a shoot.
Our story
Nobody planned a company. Here is how a small exercise met a real problem.

Sumit Verma was between jobs. Instead of waiting, he started a small project to keep practising and keep building.
The first use
He wanted to send a movie to his sister. So the practice project got a purpose: upload a file, get one link, share it. The inspiration was Smash, and it worked better than expected.
April 2026
Hemant Singh got engaged and booked a photographer. He watched the photographer struggle to get the photos to everyone in good quality, and wanted to build a product of his own to fix it.
June 2026
Sumit and Hemant are best friends, close as brothers. They had already worked together at several startups, taking products from zero to one. So instead of starting a second project, Hemant joined ShareXtra in June to make it bigger. This time the product would be their own.
The build
Together we added what a photographer needs after a shoot: event galleries, selfie face search so each guest finds their own photos, client photo picking, live upload from the camera and a QR code for every gallery.
Today, and ahead
We work on ShareXtra every day, and we plan to for many years. The goal is simple: make it more useful and more powerful with every release.
What we stand for
We built encryption in from day one — not bolted on later. Your files are unreadable to everyone, including us.
Global CDN, optimised upload pipelines, and no artificial throttling. Fast is a feature, not a bonus.
From solo freelancers to enterprise teams — ShareXtra scales with how you work, not the other way around.
Every feature ships because someone actually needed it. No roadmap bloat, no vanity metrics.
The free tier is genuinely useful — not a crippled demo. Real encryption, real speed, real limits you can work within.
From the upload experience to the download page design — we obsess over details so our users don't have to think about them.
